Ruby + Spencer

Ruby & Spencer made planning their wedding a blast.  Both the bride and groom were in the thick of their medical residency programs so most of the planning took place over late night FaceTime sessions. We became immediate friends filled with non-stop laughter throughout the process.  Being from Oregon, Spencer wanted to showcase the beauty of the Gorger- not to mention, this is where he proposed to Ruby. Being Indian, Ruby wanted to incorporate some of her cultural traditions in their big day.

The weekend started off with a Menhdi party at Springhouse Cellars.  Guests dined on traditional Indian cuisine, and even get henna artwork done if they chose.  The night was filled with colorful traditional Saris, and a dance performance by Ruby's cousins who had choreographed a dance just for the couple.

For the ceremony and reception, Ruby & Spencer chose the ever-so-stunning Mt. Hood Organic Farms with the most stunning view of Mt. Hood in the background at pretty much any angle.  Their traditional Hindu Ceremony took place under a mandap that had the gorgeous mountain peering above.

Guests then made their way to cocktail hour while enjoying specialty cocktails that Ruby & Spencer both came up with- Spencer's - a Cloud 9 (with dry ice to boot) and Ruby's - One Amore, both which were a huge hit. For dinner, guests found their seats via a constellation board where they were assigned their seating arrangement and were then treated to the most delicious family style dinner served by Cultivate Catering, with all local ingredients forged from just miles away from the farm.

After dinner, Ruby surprised Spencer with a special serenade of "Vision of Love" by Mariah Carey to kick off their dance party. Guests were also treated to Voodoo Donuts and Staccato Gelato for dessert.  The night was definitely out of this world and one for the books!
