Maggie and Matt had an intimate wedding ceremony in a Seattle courthouse near their home with just their best man and maid of honor. A few days later, they threw a big party (as they called it) in Portland to celebrate with all of their friends and family from near and far. The Leftbank Annex was the perfect venue for this fun, light-hearted celebration.
Maggie and Matt are aerospace engineers and they incorporated their love of both building things and airplanes into their reception. I thought I had seen every centerpiece possible until they showed up with hand painted pots filled with succulents and model airplanes sticking out. What a cute, original way to personalize the décor! Table assignments were listed on a board divvied up by type of aircraft and each diner table included a bag of Legos for the guests to “build a gift” for the happy couple. Each table was also given an entertaining quiz to see how well they knew the bride and groom. I was blown away with the creativity and thoughtfulness that Maggie and Matt put into planning each detail of this reception so their guests would have a wonderful evening. It was so fun bringing their clever ideas to life!
Dinner was not only delicious but entertaining! Once guests were seated, Crown Paella catering walked in with a 5-foot-wide pan (took 3 adults to carry it) and set it on the buffet line. Definitely a wow factor! The head chef then welcomed everyone and provided a little instruction on how to dish the food. The secret is to scrape against the pan to get the caramelized deliciousness hidden at the bottom : )
From planning to partying, it was so fun to be around Maggie and Matt and see how they genuinely adore each other. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your love story and letting me help make your special celebration unforgettable!
