Whitney + John's wedding (our first ever weed wedding!) is going to be a hard one to describe. Not only was the couple absolutely amazing, the venue (the bride's parents home) was picture perfect and incredibly unique. Whitney and John worked with Elizabeth to plan to their wedding and no detail was overlooked. The ceremony was held in the backyard that overlooked a beautiful pond. As guests arrived by trolley and golf carts they were greeted with welcome drinks and able to explore around the property. After the ceremony guests were given popcorn and champagne then led down a dirt pathway that was lined with ripe blackberries. As guests walked they picked berries and drank champagne. At the end of the path guests entered into a large field for an amazing dinner hosted by Field and Vine. Served family style the dishes flowed out from the kitchen course by course.
After dinner and toasts guests were invited into the woods, an old tree farm. The woods were decorated with cafe lights, lounge furniture, a dance floor and that kept the party going till the wee hours. Whitney and John also planned a special Oregon treat for their guests by offering a smoking tent with a weed bar. Marijuana had just become legal in Oregon and this was the first "Bud Bar" in the state. They did such a great job being responsible and organized as they wanted their guests to enjoy the opportunity. They hired a Bud-tender from , a local dispensary, to oversee the tent and make sure guests were responsible and knowledgeable about the different varieties available. The photos from this wedding went absolutely viral. Everyone from What a fun and memorable night!
Details from our interview have been posted internationally in such publications as ELITE DAILY, USA TODAY, HUFFINGTON POST,MASHABLE, COSMOPOLITAN, METRO UK, FOOD WORLD NEWS and YAHOO UK to name just a few. Even Jimmy Fallon had something to say about it! Love it or hate it, this is clearly a very unique idea for the wedding industry. To each their own, right?!?
