Baby Shower

Christelle's Baby Shower

I first met Christelle back in 2016 when we planned her epic Art Museum Wedding! She and Jon knew they wanted a family and got right on it! Christelle's shower with her sassy sister-in-law, Melissa, was a blast.  We incorporated tones of blue (it's a boy!) with white and gold, darling stuffed animals, uber elegant florals and beautiful vintage china to create a super chic brunch shower at Waverley Country Club.

The mama-to-be (with the most darling bump!) was absolutely glowing and guests enjoyed the beautiful view, yummy bites, mocktails (and cocktails...Melissa doesn't mess around!) and the the sweetest baby gifts.

Congrats Christelle + Jon, and thank you Melissa for the comic-relief of planning an event with you!

Chic Baby Shower

When Mary throws a party, she really throws a party! I've had the pleasure of working with this family since Mary + Ryan's wedding in 2011 and have planned several parties with them since.  They started as clients, but are now some of our closest friends and I absolutely adore them.

This time around, Mary wanted to do something super special for her friend and past nanny, Kim.  Kim is the kind of person that lights up the room when she walks in. She has a wonderful way with kids, but she's truly just a joy to be around.  I have no doubt in my mind that she will be an amazing mother to a super special little boy. And...can we talk about her darling baby bump?!?!

Mary wanted to go all out and throw a chic garden party brunch at her new home in tones of green, black, white and gold to celebrate the mama-to-be.  Guests enjoyed cocktails (and yummy mocktails too!) and delicious appetizers courtesy of Art of Catering.  With modern sleek white lacquer tables from Vintage Meets Modern, polka dot flatware from Party Place and the cutest place card/pregnancy fact sheet from Crave Design, it was truly an event to remember. I can't decide which was my favorite detail....the custom green chiavari chairs or the super unique vodka infusion station courtesy of Public Provisions! Clearly, this group likes to have fun.

After an over-the-top brunch buffet, guests oooh'd and ahhh'd over the darling baby gifts, enjoyed a delicious cake by Dream Cakes and cocktailed the morning away. Of course, we couldn't forget the kiddos and set them up with their own craft table!  While I do love planning weddings, its so fun to do something a little different, especially with creative freedom!

Nora designed and planned my baby shower and it was un-be-lievable! The attention to detail was seriously amazing. I can honestly say that there is not a single thing more that I could’ve possibly asked for!

Nora's Baby Sprinkle | Portland Baby Shower | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio

When Nora Sheils (owner of Bridal Bliss and my sister-in-law) broke the news that Baby #2 was on the way, it was hard to think of where to begin in planning a Sprinkle for this special lady. Myself and one of Nora's best girlfriends, Mary (the two met planning her wedding!), got together for coffee and spent the entire afternoon brainstorming everything that Nora loves. The list included tea, pumpkin, pampering, sweets, fancy cocktails and much more. After searching for the perfect venue we landed on Art of Catering's event space in the Pearl. The space was intimate and a blank canvas which would allow us to design and create something special for Nora.

For the design, we knew Nora loves the color combo of navy with fuchsia and all things Kate Spade so we worked off this palette. With the help of Party Place and Zest Floral we were able to bring the space to life. Each place setting included gold flatware, pre-set china with a napkin folded like a bow. Zest Floral created several low and lush floral arrangements in chic gold geometric vases. They mixed in a few gold geometric shapes, pillar candles and low votive candles for ambiance. Details included a place setting bloom, a personalized dinner menu on each place setting and a custom champagne bottle that read "Baby Sheils is almost here! When you get the news pop this bubbly and send some cheer!" Designed by the ever so talented Crave Design | Portland Baby Shower | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio

Mary and I, with the help of James at Art of Catering, brainstormed a delicious menu which was perfect for fall dinner and included Nora's favorites. Guests were greeted with passed tea sandwiches, mini shots of pumpkin broth and of course delicious mocktails and cocktails which they enjoyed before or after an indulgent massage. For dinner Chef Christopher Dahl put together a smoked pheasant salad which included quinoa and plumped cherries over greens and fresh herbs. The salad was topped with spice roasted pumpkin, pepitas and crumbled manouri cheese. Following dinner each guest was served a trio of delectable desserts: salted pumpkin caramel, pumpkin panna cotta and a Moonstruck chocolate pumpkin truffle. | Portland Baby Shower | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio | Portland Baby Shower | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio

The evening was perfect. The room was filled with love and laughter, which is really all you need when you are celebrating such a special person! A big thank you to Alice from Mosca Studio for capturing these beautiful pictures which we love ever so much! | Portland Baby Shower | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio

John's Baby Shower | Portland Wedding Baby Shower Planner

Not to be outdone by his wife Mary (CLICK HERE) to read about the fab shower she hosted!), Ryan wanted to throw a rowdy baby shower bash to celebrate his good friend’s impending fatherhood.  He wanted to celebrate John, and he wanted to go big. NORA came up with the idea of a progressive party and knew that DOUBLE DECKER PDX would be the perfect form of transportation.

The guys met up and were greeted with Sofia champagne and snacks as they loaded the bus. The first stop was CIRCA 33 private speakeasy for appetizers, cocktails, and a little surprise.

Ryan wanted a fun game to get everyone a bit rowdy.  We decided to have a drink off, but with a twist.  Each guy received a bonnet to wear and a baby bottle filled with a while Russian drink.  Team Pink drank first, and the winner went up against the winner of Team Blue.  It was ridiculously hilarious! The best part?  The guys kept their bonnets on all night!

Next stop: Ned Ludd’s ELDER HALL for a amazing coursed dinner!  Ryan worked with the chef to design a mouth watering menu with squash fritters, tempura cauliflower, beef rib steak and a rich bourbon chocolate brownie.

We initially planned on the final stop being MULTNOMAH WHISKEY LIBRARY but the guys decided to go a little more low brow and celebrated into the wee hours at ALIBI!  What better way then end the night with Blue Star Donuts for the ride home?

Baby Bliss | Portland Baby Shower Planner | Oregon Event Design | Powers Studios

While weddings are our forte here at Bridal Bliss, we also plan several other events including corporate functions, birthday parties and bridal showers. We also plan baby showers…and  my dear friends and fellow BRIDAL BLISS team member KATY and Heather threw a shower for me that was one for the books!

Katy & Heather originally planned the shower with a “ready to pop” theme.  However, my baby boy Gavin decided to show up two months early (!!!) and unfortunately the party had to be cancelled.  Instead the girls planned a “Sip n’ See” for a smaller group of industry friends to be able to meet my little man and enjoy some food and drinks at one of our favorite venues, THE FOUNDRY.

This event was no ordinary shower.  Katy & Heather took the details to a whole new level with adorable invites by CRAVE DESIGN, a yummy spread by FOOD IN BLOOM CATERING, darling dessert display, delicious cake by DREAM CAKES, gorgeous flowers by ZEST, an awesome lounge and rentals from OHANA & PARTY PLACE and even a cotton candy station from FAIRY FLOSS…all captured by BEN POWERS.  My friends know me well…I have a ridiculous sweet tooth!

One of my favorite details was a fun activity that guests were invited to participate in.  26 blank wood blocks were prepared and guests were asked to choose one letter of the alphabet, and decorate a block that letter.  Gavin now has a complete set of alphabet blocks and they are all personalized by my friends.  What a clever idea!

We had a wonderful time and I loved introducing Gavin to so many friends.  Thanks again Heather & Katy!
