Central Oregon Wedding

Sheila + Scot

A spring wedding is always a bit unpredictable in Oregon. Lucky for us, we had the pleasure of working with the most laid back couple at Tetherow Resort in Bend last April. The day greeted us with wind, rain and even some snow, but ended with some perfectly timed sunshine for Sheila and Scot. Their wedding day took place at Tetherow’s newly built wedding pavilion. Heirloom Floral brought in some gorgeous spring arrangements, with pops of bright pink peonies and ranunculus.

The bouquets were all wrapped in different shades of green to compliment the accents of navy throughout the event. Once hair and makeup were completed by Lindsay Wegner and Kate Hana Artistry, the bridal party met outside for formal photos taken by Joe Kline Photography, who was there to capture the entire evening. As guests arrived, they had the opportunity to sign a custom made poster for the couple. The ceremony was held in the wedding pavilion which was filled with friends and family, and the couple’s fur baby Filippe was on hand to help the pair say their vows. Once the “I do’s” were done, the crowd was treated to a surprise performance by bagpiper Mike Baxter, as the bridal party recessed out to cocktail hour. Local beers and wine were passed by the Tetherow staff while guests mingled around large fire pits overlooking the golf course.

Dinner took place back in the wedding pavillion, although it was hard to recognize after the staff transformed the space for the reception. Seats were assigned and easy to find with custom cards from Minted, which were delivered using custom take-home pint glasses designed by the couple. Dinner was followed by some of the best speeches I have ever heard, and cutting into a gorgeous cake from The Cake Lady.

A fabulous dance party ensued and went well into the
evening, My favorite part? A perfectly choreographed dance by the couple to Bill Withers “Lovely Day”, which it truly was! Congratulations Sheila and Scot, you two bring smiles to
everyone in your path and I wish you the happiest marriage possible!

I just wanted to thank you for assigning Cam as my planner — she was absolutely spectacular and we had so much fun and didn’t have to worry about anything. Thank you for running such a rad business!

Sally + Rob

I had such a fun time getting to know Sally and Rob!!  They are the most upbeat, fun couple that truly wanted nothing but the best for their special day!!  We traveled down to Sunriver, Oregon to help the pair set up for their wedding weekend.

After several days of fun, family filled events, Sally and Rob’s beautiful August wedding started out with clear blue skies, and happy people everywhere!  Sally and the girls were pampered in their Bridal Suite at Sunriver, by the talented artists with Kate Tuma Artistry. Once ready, Kimberly Kay and Moving Pictures were ready to capture the couple's romantic first look. They were able to finish family and bridal party photos before everyone was picked up by The Bend Trolley, and driven into Bend for the ceremony at The Old St.Francis Church.

Post ceremony, guests headed back out to Sunriver, and were greeted in the Great Hall, with local beers and wine. Dove String Quartet followed the bridal party from the church to set the sound for cocktail hour. Everyone mingled and snapped polaroid shots for the custom guest book, while the couple made their rounds saying hello to all of their guests. Eventually, it was time to transition into the Great Hall for dinner. Tables were set with unbelievable arrangements by Heirloom Floral Design, as well as custom chocolate boxes from the bride's favorite candy shop in Seattle. The talented Ryan Innes played piano as the group dined. After the toast, the bride played an emotional tribute to family and love that left everyone in tears.

What cures tears?? Cake!! Good thing we had a stunner of a cake from Foxtail Bakeshop to indulge in.  As for the dancing, well there was no shortage. Flip Flop sounds was able to play the soundtrack that took this party long into the night. Sally and Rob, you’re the kind of people who turn days around, and make people smile. I hope nothing but the happiest life for the two of you!

Megan + Andrew

I knew this was going to be one for the books when I first talked with Megan and her mom. I instantly feel in love with their personalities, style and wedding ideas. Throughout the process we bounced around various ideas, with a vision for clean whites and lush greenery (hello gorgeous!).

They chose Pronghorn for their September wedding and the entire day was absolutely perfection. Megan and Andrew said I do on Event Island at Pronghorn, which overlooks a picturesque scene.

After the heartfelt ceremony guests were invited into a reception tent that had been transformed by Heriloom Floral and West Coast. The tent was made to feel intimate by hanging floral chandeliers and a garland backdrop for the head table.  Guest tables were styled with perfection which included flowers and mixed metallic candles and wood table numbers from Hey Halle

As the sun began to set, guests danced the night away under the tent. Of course after the tent reception, there was an afterparty with pizza and more dancing. What more do you need? It was a perfect day and we were so happy to be apart of it!

Bridal Bliss is AMAZING! When attempting to write this review we did not think it was possible to put into words how spectacular Elizabeth and the Bridal Bliss team were throughout the entire planning process, as well as on the big day. Not only was Elizabeth there for our families every step of the way, she also problem solved before we ever knew an issue occurred, was extremely organized, provided amazing input and brought our vision to life to create what will always be one of the most memorable days of our lives. We cannot thank Elizabeth & Bridal Bliss enough for all you do - this wedding would not have been possible without you!!!

Kerrin + Chris

A smoking hot couple, Kerrin and Chris envisioned their wedding celebration as a long weekend of equal parts relaxing and partying, all focused on spending time with their friends and family from near and far. They found a perfect retreat in Central Oregon at a private residence on the outskirts of Bend with plenty of space to house their bridal party and all kinds of activities on site to entertain, from a putting green (and several golf tees scattered about the estate) to a pool table! Even a lake on property offered perfect relief from the hot summer days for lazy floating with a cocktail in hand. Despite the terrible forest fires in the area that choked the air with smoke, Kerrin and Chris maintained a great spirit and enjoyed an unforgettable celebration -- it was smoking and hot, just like them!

The ceremony was held simply on a spit of lawn with the high desert on one side and the lake on the other. A large tent was set on the lawn across the lake for the reception, with corn hole and cocktails to entertain the guests in the space between. Large sprawling installations of greenery with hops, eucalyptus, olive branches and other hardy plants were accented with the soft white and ivory floral of garden roses, hydrangea, lisianthus, and dahlias to highlight focal points. Meanwhile the tables were simply dressed in ivory linens with a soft chiffon runner, greenery and votive candles to add romance to the tables. In keeping with the clean, modern, sophisticated black and white theme, marble table numbers identified tables. Individual menus were printed with the marble motif and hand calligraphed place cards were affixed with mini black and silver binder clips, adding both a fun mod decorative element and function in keeping the stationery stationary!

Comfort food was on the menu including ribs and a mac n cheese buffet. Guests were offered sassy disposable bibs to protect their dressy attire -- tuxedos for the gents and a cheeky “Marriage is Messy” aphorism printed for the ladies! Pies and late night snacks of tater tots and soft pretzels (with all the fixings) kept guests full and happy on the dance floor until the s’mores smorgasboard came out and a curated selection of fine whiskey capped off the night.

It was so much fun working with Kerrin and Chris and helping them to create a memorable setting for their wedding and so rewarding to see their guests having such a great time. Congratulations again, Kerrin and Chris!

Courtney + Aaron

It is not everyday that your boss asks you to coordinate her sister-in-law’s wedding. It was such an honour to help bring Courtney and Aaron’s dreams to life and be a part of their amazing day.

Their wedding was chic, stylish, effortlessly elegant, and a ton of fun! Courtney and Aaron chose to focus a long weekend worth of wedding events at Black Butte Ranch where Courtney spent summers and holidays growing up. Courtney’s memories from childhood of watching from the pool deck as brides would sashay down the lawn to their ceremonies were the foundation of her dream of being married at Black Butte Ranch. With spectacular views of the mountains reflected in the lake and sprawling lawns in the sunshine, a more perfect setting would have been hard to find!

Colors and decor were moody, with dark plum and burgundy foliage mixed into the florals with accents of ivory and blush dahlias, tucked in with lush textural elements. The ceremony was held outdoors in the fall sunshine against the backdrop of the lake and mountains, with blankets for guests to cuddle into as the afternoon sun set and the temperature dropped. The aisle between walnut benches was lined with naturalistic grasses and dark foliage that seemed to be growing out of the lawn, with a semi-circle of similar arrangements defining the altar space. Courtney couldn't have been more darling in her fitted gown from Anna's Bridal, showing off her six month baby bump.

The reception was held beneath a tent with strings of cafe lights reflecting their ambiance in the clear canopy, with heaters to keep guests toasty despite the precipitously dropping temperature outside. Long table centerpieces were set in mixed gold and brass vases and surrounded with chunky black pillar candles. Rustic wooden chairs and neutral linen completed the look.

Special highlights of the day included the ceremony processional, with a special arrangement of music performed by a string quartet and sung by the bride’s uncle and cousin, which set the tone for a deeply emotional and personal day. Craft cocktails developed by Aaron (a professional mixologist) were an instant hit and subtly imbued the reception with his personality and style. Lastly, the father of the bride surprised everyone during his speech by singing to Courtney, with her brother jumping on stage to play drums while her uncle and cousin sung backup and played guitar. Not usually a singer, Courtney’s father had spent six months in voice lessons and in trawling karaoke bars to practice! The sweetness of the moment was unparalleled.

It was such a delight to work with Courtney and Aaron and share in the joy of the Sheils family as they grow. Congratulations Aaron and Court -- and cheers to your next adventures!

Hands down the best decision I made regarding my wedding! I had the time of my life at my wedding in large part due to Bridal Bliss and their flawless planning. From their suggested to vendors to the ease of the entire week before the wedding, I always felt taken care of and never concerned with any potential glitch. I was able to enjoy time with my family and friends without the stress of the wedding details. So thankful for Bridal Bliss!

Best Wedding I have ever attended. Everything was perfect. Bridal Bliss was a delight to work with. If plans call for an significant wedding in the northwest, you would be missing a opportunity to make yours the best it could be if you do not include Bridal Bliss in your planning!

Kelly + Ryan

I first met Kelly through a mutual friend about 7 years ago. We ran into each other time and time again. Over the years I learned that Kelly is one of the sweetest, and most caring people. When Kelly got engaged to Ryan, I was over the moon for them. Just a few weeks after being engaged Kelly emailed me and we dove head first into planning.

Ryan and Kelly decided on Sunriver for their wedding. From there we began planning and bringing their vision to life. Using creams, gold and blush for the colors - the design of the room came to life. Heriloom Flowers adorned some of the tables with tall gold branches, orchids and hanging votives. Other tables were low and lush floral arrangements. All the tables were filled with candles. The room was glowing and simply stunning!

The level of detail into this wedding was something out of a magazine. each guests was given a personalized champagne glass which also displayed their seating assignment. Allowing guests to sip and be seated. Inside the Great Hall dinner menus were adorned with touches of gold foil. The dessert table was absolutely decadent with Dreammin' Desserts designing a table that contained three individual cakes and cupcakes.

But perhaps the best detail and surprise of the evening was during the first dance, Kelly and Ryan had gold confetti shoot off - filling the room and kicking off on epic dance party. Kelly and Ryan danced the night away with a room filled with their family and friends. It was so fun seeing everyone celebrate these two as they are two very loving and caring people. An extra special thank you to Grace Ormonde for featuring the event on her swoon-worthy blog!

Nikki + Jared

Bridalbliss.com | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Kimberly Kay Photography

Sunriver was the perfect setting for Nikki & Jared’s wedding. Their love for the outdoors and the beauty of Oregon was reflected beautifully! Guests from across the globe came to Sunriver to celebrate the couple and enjoyed a weekend full of festivities. The ceremony was out on the Bachelor Lawn overlooking Mt. Bachelor on a gorgeous day. Guests laughed and cried as the couples said their sweet vows to one another. Nikki wore a gorgeous “Grace Kelley-esque” dress with a veil handmade by her mother, it was adorned with pearls and lace from her late Grandmother. So sweet!

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the warm weather & good view with a cocktail in their hand on the back patio. Guests were greeted with a hand-written note from the couple, which acted as their escort card – such a personal touch! The group made their way into the Great Hall where tables were decorated with soft grey linen, purple napkins and gorgeous blooms by Heirloom Floral.

After a delicious meal and cake, guests danced the night away to music provided by Flip Flop Sound DJs. The admiration for this couple filled the room, it was so great to see how loved this couple was by all the guests who travelled miles to be attend the celebration!  It was an evening to remember. Thank you, you two, for letting me be a part of your big day.

Morgan + Maverick

Morgan & Maverick are just the cutest couple and were such a pleasure to work with as they planned their destination wedding. These two begin dating in high school and as high school sweethearts they went to their senior prom together – Morgan was even wearing a white dress that night! As they continued to date, they would go with their families to Black Butte Ranch and just knew it was the perfect location for their wedding!

The weekend celebrations were kicked off with a fun rehearsal brunch and s’mores welcome party on the lawn. Filled with sunflower details and surrounded by their closest friends and family, they were married at a beautiful ceremony under the birch trees. Guests then enjoyed a leisurely cocktail hour filled with lawn games and beautiful views of the mountains before a delicious BBQ dinner. The night was perfect for these two and I could not be happier for them. Huge congrats to this darling couple!
