Columbia Gorge Wedding

Allie + Jimmy

Allie and Jimmy picked Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast for their wedding venue. If you have not been out to this venue before, it is one of the most beautiful venues. There is a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood and the grounds are immaculate. We knew once we picked this venue that planning the wedding would be fun as the backdrop for a wedding is simply stunning.

We dove in headfirst and began working on the details of the big day. Allie loved the look and sound of creating an intimate setting for the tables. We used the venues wood tables and adorned them with organic flowers from Selva. Sarah did a beautiful job incorporating non-traditional flowers and pops of colors to keep with the natural feel of the space.

The flowers spilled on to the tables which were also filled up by White Pepper's amazing family style dinner service. After guests dined on local, fresh and seasonal menu, they were treated to pies from Pie Spot and cake from Dream Cakes. Guests ended up dancing the night away as the sunset behind Mt. Hood and the stars came out.

It was truly a perfect day (featured by Wedding Chicks!) and we were so lucky to be apart of it!

Katie + Mark

Mark and Katie’s wedding offered a glimpse into the best of the Art Deco period. An elegant summer party, seamlessly flowing between the luxuriant gardens and historic ballroom of The Columbia Gorge Hotel dramatically perched on the very edge of the grand Columbia River gorge.

A quartet greeted guests with jazzy tunes as they entered the ceremony area, passing through freestanding doors lavishly embellished with a vibrant, lush flower garland in hues of magenta, carmine, vermillion, peach, and aubergine contrasted against bright greenery. Large tillandsia airplants kept the florals quirky and added fascinating texture. A whimsical curtain of flowers dangling from the arching branch of a tree added a splash of bright color to the focal point of the altar area, with views of the great river beyond. It was a truly spectacular setting for their intimate and deeply moving ceremony. | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Stark Photography

At the reception, guests were treated with sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and a mouth-watering formal dinner culminating in a classic European style wedding cake. After the heartwarming speeches, everyone’s silly side was encouraged with a fun photo booth, set with the backdrop of a boxwood hedge trimmed with an ombré cascading floral design. A specialty espresso bar kept the energy high and the dance floor packed, and no detail was missed – from extravagant foam art to personalized cups stamped with Mark and Katie’s wedding logo, designed by Katie herself. However, perhaps the most fun detail was the fifties style reception dress that Katie designed and had sewn up with the help of her mother and a dear friend, all in secret to surprise Mark!

It was a night to remember. I can’t imagine any way that it could have been more fun to help Mark and Katie and their families plan such a marvelously fun wedding! Congratulations again, Mark and Katie!

Elise + Louis

Elise and Louis bond over many things including tennis, dirty martinis, and most importantly their love for each other.  This fun loving couple married at Skamania Lodge with a traditional Jewish ceremony under a chuppah made by the father-of-the-bride.  Flowers For You set the reception in soft candlelight and white florals while the table numbers gave guests a glimpse of the couple's engagement photos by Deyla Huss Photography.   Guests enjoyed dirty martinis, and danced and sang (the cutest flower girl flawlessly belted a tune for the couple and crowd!) the night away thanks to the awesome tunes from Design Band.  This couple truly 'Game, Set, Matched' and I wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Melissa + Ben

I just loved helping Melissa and Ben plan their glam garden party wedding! The picturesque Bridal Veil Lakes in the Gorge set the tone for their stunning event. Guests were greeted with a champagne arrival and made their way to the meadow for the ceremony. One of their close friends officiated a personal and sweet ceremony and included Ben surprising Melissa with a dove release that held special meaning to them both. After the ceremony, guests continued around the lake to the Gorge Overlook for cocktail hour. It was a gorgeous view and setting with picnic blankets for guests to enjoy.

Dinner tables were set under bistro lights and detailed with dreamy café au lait dahlia centerpieces accented by gold and blush. With the lake as a backdrop, Melissa and Ben shared a beautiful sweetheart table lined with garland and candlesticks. After toasts, the two got to share the most incredible sunset with their guests.

To kick off dancing, Melissa, Ben and their guests begin a flash mob that Melissa had choreographed. The rest of the evening was amazing with guests taking Polaroid selfies on the vintage furniture, a packed dance floor and a cigar bar. There were so many memorable moments at Melissa & Ben’s wedding and I am so thrilled that I got to be a part of it. It really was the best day ever! Congrats you two, I am so happy for you and your life together and big thanks to Portland Bride + Groom Magazine for featuring the event!

Debbie + Brent

Fun, kind, generous, intelligent, stylish (just look at Debbie’s dresses!), with a mutual passion for fine food, wine, and travel, Debbie and Brent are a perfect pairing!  It was such a delight to plan their wedding at Skamania Lodge, and even more fun to watch their families and friends enjoy the day with gusto.

As might be expected from an August day in Oregon, Debbie and Brent’s wedding day was sunny and hot.  Colorful parasols and sandalwood fans offered guests exotic respite from the sun during the ceremony, held in the amphitheater with a spectacular natural backdrop of the Columbia Gorge.  Individual iced refresher towels were passed out to guests after the short and sweet service providing instant, luxurious relief, and then everyone was ushered to the reception tent on the shady woodland lawn.

The stars of the reception were the cakes!  An extravagant stacked cheese wheel cake featuring local cheeses, cut and served by Skamania’s executive chef; a simply stunning fondant cake with a ruffle and rose design, inspired by Debbie’s reception dress; an adorable golf-themed carrot cake for the father of the bride, presented as a birthday surprise.  All different.  All beautiful.  All delicious.  What a great party. Congratulations, Debbie and Brent!

Rachel + Nick | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio | Devils Food Catering

Rachel and Nick's hood river wedding was so unique and fun. Guests were surprised with a train ride on the Mt. Hood Railroad upon arrival to a tiny chapel, Pine Grove Church, nestled next to acres of gorgeous Northwest vineyards. | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio | Devils Food Catering | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Mosca Studio | Devils Food Catering

The reception was held in the beautiful ruins at Springhouse Cellars. The groom changed from his black tuxedo jacket for the ceremony into a classic white number. Paired with the bride's red lips, the couple was silver screen stylish.  Dinner was deliciously and perfectly presented by Devil's Food Catering, a summer feast of shrimp skewers, corn pizzettas, and local perfectly cooked steak and salmon. The cake, by Windflower Cakes, was incredibly fluffy and flavored with blueberries, lemon curd and crème fraîche. The couple danced a perfectly choreographed routine to "Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. The dance floor opened up with “Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye,” and the guests rushed onto the dance floor, where they stayed the rest of the evening.

It would be hard to find a more stylish or charming couple than Lauren and Nic.  Coordinated by KIRSTEN, their  Mt. Hood wedding exemplified an elegant garden party set on the beautiful grounds of MT HOOD BED & BREAKFAST.  Personal and intimate, friends and family gathered from around the world to witness the touching and humorous ceremony that was officiated by the bride’s brother.  The outbursts of laughter and expressions of love set the tone for the entire party! | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Watson Photography | Blum Floral | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Watson Photography | Blum Floral | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Watson Photography | Blum Floral | Columbia Gorge Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Watson Photography | Blum Floral

Madalyn + Gabe

Madalyn + Gab'es red, black and gold wedding at the beautiful Viewpoint Inn was featured on the STYLE ME PRETTY a few months back.  I am so sad that the venue was recently damaged in a fire but am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be rebuilt as it is a great facility with a stunning view. Madalyn was one of the most laid back brides I have worked with—she supplied us with a general idea of what she was looking for and gave us creative freedom to bring it all together and craft a truly spectacular event.

Madalyn & Gabe were such a sweet couple together—not only did I enjoy planning the wedding, I loved getting to know the two of them.   SEE THE ENTIRE WEDDING GALLERY HERE. | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | TJ Cameron
