Downtown Wedding

Christelle + Jon

If I were to describe my perfect client match, it would be Christelle + Jon.  They have super fun personalities, and their goal was to show their guests a good time but knock their socks off at the same time.  If you know me, you know I love a "wow factor." Christelle loves flowers, Jon loves food and beverage. perfect match. We planned their Art Museum wedding in three months and no detail was left untouched.  When I say no detail, I mean it...we even prettied up the elevators!

The day started out for both sides of the wedding party with toasts and fun at The Benson Hotel. After an emotional first look on The Benson's iconic stairs, the crew made their way to the Portland Art Museum for photos with the tight-knit family. As Christelle + Jon signed the Ketubah nearest and dearest, guests dressed in Black Tie left their cars with valet and filled in the ceremony.  They were greeted by classical music from Duo Con Brio, custom kippas and programs filled with petals to toss at the newlyweds, and all were blown away by the stunning floral chuppa.

After the traditional Jewish ceremony, Cocktail Hour began in the Sculpture Garden outside with delicious hors d'oeuvres and an open bar.  Post-mingling, guests rode the decked out elevators up to the Kriedel Grand Ballroom for the dinner and reception.  Jaws dropped at the fab custom escort card wall, over-the-top floral entry, stunning orchid floral chandeliers, gorgeous centerpieces, hand-calligraphed chargers, floral based bistro tables and elegant linens and lighting to highlight it all. Devil's Food catered a five course meal paired with high end wine selections and soon after poured Cristal for the toasts. Crystal, Jon and their guests danced the night away, and the gals kicked of heels for champagne colored flip flops while the guys took a break outside for cigars and scotch.

From the floral, to the people, to the decor...this wedding couldn't have been more beautiful.  It flowed perfectly and Christelle + Jon were beaming all night.  I loved everything about this event (and so did Oregon Bride Magazine) and working with this wonderful couple was a dream!

We worked with Nora from Bridal Bliss and she was the best! We only had three months to plan the wedding and Nora was able to pull the wedding we always dreamed of. We wanted to have a simple, classic yet elegant wedding. Nora was always responsive, helped us select the best vendors and led the creative process as well. She was great at giving us good ideas which we really appreciated. I literally had the best time planning my wedding all thanks to Nora for making it an easy process.

Amanda + Sam

Pretty much from our first meeting I knew that Amanda and Sam along with Amanda's mom, Lynn, were going to be amazing clients and I was going to love planning with them. They were so nice and we had so much fun meeting to chat about details.

Amanda and Sam spent the afternoon taking photos as Sweetlife Photography beautifully captured the moments and details of the day before arriving at Left Bank Annex for their ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful as Amanda made her way down the aisle with her mom!

After the ceremony, guests mingled downstairs for cocktail hour as the main room was transformed for dinner. They had worked with Brenna Burnett Florals to create a soft, romantic feel in Left Bank Annex. The juxtaposition of the pillar candles and loose greenery to the urban feel of the space, was a perfect look for these two.

Devil's Food served a delicious meal before guest made their way to the dance floor for bite size desserts and dancing! Peter Ford Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night with the couple's favorites! Amanda and Sam, I am so happy I got to know you two and be a part of your wedding! You two are such amazing people and a wonderful couple.

Maggie + Matt | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Sincerely Jaclynn Photography

Maggie and Matt had an intimate wedding ceremony in a Seattle courthouse near their home with just their best man and maid of honor. A few days later, they threw a big party (as they called it) in Portland to celebrate with all of their friends and family from near and far. The Leftbank Annex was the perfect venue for this fun, light-hearted celebration.

Maggie and Matt are aerospace engineers and they incorporated their love of both building things and airplanes into their reception. I thought I had seen every centerpiece possible until they showed up with hand painted pots filled with succulents and model airplanes sticking out. What a cute, original way to personalize the décor! Table assignments were listed on a board divvied up by type of aircraft and each diner table included a bag of Legos for the guests to “build a gift” for the happy couple. Each table was also given an entertaining quiz to see how well they knew the bride and groom. I was blown away with the creativity and thoughtfulness that Maggie and Matt put into planning each detail of this reception so their guests would have a wonderful evening. It was so fun bringing their clever ideas to life!

Dinner was not only delicious but entertaining! Once guests were seated, Crown Paella catering walked in with a 5-foot-wide pan (took 3 adults to carry it) and set it on the buffet line. Definitely a wow factor! The head chef then welcomed everyone and provided a little instruction on how to dish the food. The secret is to scrape against the pan to get the caramelized deliciousness hidden at the bottom : )

From planning to partying, it was so fun to be around Maggie and Matt and see how they genuinely adore each other. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your love story and letting me help make your special celebration unforgettable!

Kelsey + Drew | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Hill Photography

Kelsey & Drew were two of the best!! Every meeting we sat down and thought of ways to make this wedding more unique, more creative, and more classy! My favorite part about this one was definitely their unique escort card wall. I have a passion for a fun escort card wall – so when a client wants to do one – I want to make it even better than the last!

The pair wanted an elegant and classy color scheme with lush white floral and tons of greenery. Liz Rusnac totally accomplished their color dreams with beautiful ceremony arrangements and a GORGEOUS stairwell garland that set the tone for the entire evening.

Once we came up with the general design of the escort card wall, I took it to Liz to see if she could help us with the wreath portion. She blew it out of the park! Liz & her sweet husband ending up building a custom 5 foot by 9 foot circle garland for our one-of-a-kind escort card display. Guests were greeted by a gold foiled pocket card with an insert that had their name and table assignment. It was the perfect personal touch while still being elegant.

The ceremony was perfect in every way! Kelsey came down that magical staircase and met her dad at the bottom. They exchanged their vows, said “I do!” and got ready to party. Art of Catering passed delicious appetizers and yummy drinks, meanwhile the photo booth was open up in the Ovation Room. The Bylines (if you haven’t heard them perform yet, you have to!) were a phenomenal touch to cocktail hour, guests even started dancing!

After a fun cocktail hour and delicious dinner, Kelsey & Drew shared their first dance down on the dance floor while guests and family watched from above. It was amazing! They finished dancing the night away with delicious desserts and cake from Dream Cakes. Oh & not to mention, the adorable cigar bar we set up for guests (and mostly Drew ;) ) to enjoy in between dancing. Who knew they would have taken the entire party outside?!

It’s so fun when you become connected with a couple and watch everything come to life. Kelsey and Drew, it was such a pleasure getting to coordinate your dream day. Congratulations!

Catherine Sammon from Bridal Bliss exceeded our expectations. She went above and beyond to help us plan the wedding! She had great ideas and suggestions. Honestly it’s difficult to plan anything with our work schedules and she literally did everything! We will use her again for any event planning we have in the future. Thanks Catherine!

Christina + Drake

Where do I begin - this couple and this day were absolute perfection! From the very beginning, I knew I was lucky to work with Christina & Drake. Their sense of style, class and kindness is not often matched. Their vision came to life as the day began and late October weather cooperated. The wedding party toured around Portland in the Portland trolley before reaching the ceremony and reception location. Castaway lent the perfect urban backdrop while we packed the space with modern, yet soft and simple details.

The ceremony was romantically draped and candle lit, while the couple stood underneath a lush installation of eucalyptus and olive leaves by Blum. Guests mingled with signature cocktails outside on the patio before being invited into the reception. Italian chocolate escort cards led family and friends to their seats where gold lanterns, crisp white blooms and sage colored greenery greeted them. Acrylic and gold laser cut details adorned the space, as well as hanging greenery hoops and Edison bulbs lining the head table.

Heartwarming toasts and dances were held under perfectly executed lighting by Hollywood Lights. As guests danced the night away, Fifty Licks and Bunk sandwiches parked their trucks outside to curb late night cravings. This was truly a night to remember as every chic detail fell right into place and created a masterpiece! CONGRATS Christina & Drake, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your day!

I had an incredible experience working with Bridal Bliss to plan my October 2017 wedding. I was the maid of honor in my friends’ wedding back in June 2016, and she was working with a Bridal Bliss planner, and I knew from THAT day that I had to look no further one day when I got married. I worked with Carrie, who was incredibly organized, responsive, and professional. She went above and beyond the expectations I had for a day-of planner and made the wedding planning process not just smooth, but fun. My entire bridal party raved about her. She was so relaxed which set the tone for our big day. She kept me out of the little things and allowed me to truly enjoy the week leading up to the wedding stress-free. I trusted her with everything and she had my back in conversations that can be complicated with vendors. I would HIGHLY recommend Bridal Bliss and any of their planners, you will have zero regrets.

Melissa + Alex

Melissa + Alex just knew that they wanted to get married at St. Mary's Cathedral with the celebration to follow at Portland Art Museum. As we began working together, it was clear that these two adored each other and it was fun getting to know them as a couple-- It turns out we lived in the same building for years, but never knew each other!

After a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the foyer of Portland Art Museum. As the reception doors opened for dinner, guests entered the sunken ballroom to classic white reception created by a dream team of vendors. From the stunning centerpieces created by Blum atop crisp white rentals to the beautiful cake by Laurie Clarke, their wedding details were the perfect combination for these two

After a delicious dinner by Vibrant Table, DesignBand kicked off the party and kept the dance floor packed all night. Such an amazing night and huge congrats to this wonderful couple! Thank you so much for having me as part of your special day!

We were beyond impressed and very grateful for Bridal Bliss. Our coordinator was Meghan Wicks and she made our wedding day go so smoothly! We had full confidence in her after our initial meeting and we were not let down. That was the most refreshing thing - to not have to worry about anything other than getting married on our wedding day! Meghan was always very quick to respond to all emails and any questions that we had. She attended vendor meetings and corresponded/followed up with all of our vendors, which was so helpful given our crazy schedules at the time. ALSO, the timeline Meghan made for us (for day of the wedding) was extremely detailed and so helpful for all persons in the wedding party and family members involved. Meghan assisted with little details that we would have most likely missed on our own — little details that made a big impact and added to the beauty and smoothness of our wedding day! Above all, she was a great communicator AND one step ahead at all times. Thank you to Bridal Bliss and Meghan!

Mimi + Joel | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Zeb Andrews Photography

As a foreigner myself, I especially love helping to plan multicultural weddings that honor the backgrounds of both families and that draw guests from all over the world. It’s just so fun! Mimi and Joel’s wedding was no exception. How could it be when Joel kicked off the celebration by opening a bottle of champagne by sabrage?!

Drawing inspiration from Mimi’s Arabic heritage and focusing on Mimi and Joel’s shared love for food, we developed a “Spice Routes” theme. Guests found their spice-named tables with mini bottles of za’atar blend as escort cards displayed beneath an expansive world map hand drawn by a local artist. A sense of movement and varied destinations was accomplished by layering different shades and desert colors across the room -- champagne, rust, copper, dusty palm. Naturalistic, romantic florals in vibrant hues were accented with gold Moroccan style lanterns, and a large installation of soft ivory chiffon drape framed the altar space and later the cake and desserts.

The music continued the theme, featuring Mimi and Joel’s favourites from around the world including everything from the sounds of Caribbean reggae to middle eastern influenced dance hits. A feast of middle eastern dishes was accompanied by wines from Joel’s family’s winery, with a reserve barrel of wine blended especially for the occasion.

However, to end the night we had to bring back a nod to Portland and so Mimi and Joel were whisked away in a pedicab to the cheers of their friends and family! Congratulations again, Mimi and Joel!
