I've known Vida and her family for as long as I can remember, so when she asked me to help with planning her wedding to Ed, I was incredibly honored. With a venue like the Portland Art Museum, our possibilities were endless. Vida and Ed really wanted to showcase Vida's Iranian heritage and we definitely kept that in mind during the planning process.
Their ceremony was performed by an Iranian-American officiant, Nilou Nouri (who also happens to be my talented cousin) who married the couple using not only Farsi, but also translated the ceremony in English as well. Vida & Ed said their vows in front of the Sofreh, designed by yours truly, using pieces that Vida's grandmother had brought back from Iran specifically for the wedding as well as other items each symbolizing well wishes to the couple.
For the reception, guests made their way upstairs into the Kridel Ballroom, finding their seats with gold potted succulents which also acted as favors. Tables were set with lush navy linens, gold beaded chargers and gold chivaris. The room was uplit with amber lighting and a navy paisley gobo flanking the stage. A combination of tall and short floral arrangements by Amanda Karam Floral, included garden roses, hydrangeas, greenery and tons of candles. Devil's Food provided a delicious Persian influenced dinner, everything from lamb kabobs, traditional wedding rice dishes, to salads and more. (SO GOOD!)
Vida really wanted to have a surprise element to her wedding and really give her guests something you don't typically see at a wedding, and she did not disappoint. With the talented crew from AWOL dance who performed two separate acts during dinner, one on a silk and the other on the ring --both so outstanding, leaving everyone in awe. The most vivid memory of all was the look of pure joy on both Vida & Ed's face all evening, I have never seen a couple truly enjoy every single moment of their wedding day the way the two of them did. It was so great to witness. It was an incredible evening and one for the books!

Jackie and Matt’s celebration was nothing short of amazing at the Leftbank Annex. A fun, traditional Jewish ceremony followed by the breaking of the glass that kicked off a cocktail hour with glasses full of sangria.
Jackie & Matt’s guests were greeted at Leftbank Annex to a fun colorful ombre escort card wall and were pleased to find their seat for the ceremony alongside a wonderfully colored aisle by Anna Mara floral.
Thank you, Jackie and Matt, for the opportunity to plan your day and wish we could do it all over again! Best wishes to you both and congratulations on your marriage!
I just knew I wanted to be Annah & Marc’s wedding planner when I first met with them. We just clicked and I loved hearing about their beautiful and fun wedding ideas. With a lovely vision of soft pinks and gold accented by a fun pop of mint green for an elegant yet modern look, their wedding details certainly captured this sweet couple!
The two had envisioned getting married outside in the Oregon Golf Club Rose Garden and although the day was stormy, the skies luckily stayed clear through their ceremony. These two high school sweethearts were introduced with cheers from their family and friends as they entered their reception and what a fun night it was celebrating. Huge congrats to this sweet couple!
When I met Megan + Thomas, I knew their wedding would be beautiful, unique and so fun to be a part of! The two of them met online and continued to date long distance. They chose The World Forestry Center – Miller Hall as their venue- the perfect mix of rustic and woodsy and architectural accents. We met to talk about their wedding and I loved hearing about the fun, personal details they wanted to incorporate into their big day. From the way they incorporated a Harry Potter theme, to the hanging lanterns, lush flowers and a dessert table full of delicious desserts made by the bride – a pastry chef! Every detail of their wedding was a perfect fit. Congratulations to this wonderful couple!
Laura & Nitin’s September wedding at THE ALLISON INN was easily one of my all time favorites. This couple was very hands off and let myself and their crew of professionals surprise them with an epic wedding. The only requests were to include unique performances throughout the evening and lavish florals. Laura peeked in on details along the way and encouraged us to get creative…thankfully they loved the end result!
KATY worked with Sarah & JJay on this beautiful Temple & Private Residence wedding. The charming outdoor reception boasted beautiful grounds, super fun lawn games and a s’mores bar enough to make your mouth water. Everything from the guys’ attire, to the darling bridesmaids dresses to the going away dress is to die for! Take a peek!
