THINGS TO DO IN PORTLAND

Portland is a wonderful place to visit, with much to offer. Hopefully you'll be able to spend some time exploring while you are here. Shop at the boutiques on NW 23rd Avenue and SE Hawthorne Avenue, visit art galleries in the Pearl District, wander through Saturday Market (open Saturday and Sunday), browse in Powell's Books, or take a stroll along Waterfront Park.

There are many outdoor activities including the Portland Zoo, Japanese Gardens,  Rose Gardens, and hiking in Forest Park. Mt. Hood, the Cascade Range, Columbia Gorge and Multnomah Falls are 45-90 minutes east of the City. Or drive ninety minutes west and visit the Oregon Coast.  Newport or Seaside is a recommended destination. For those with additional days to spend around Oregon, potential destinations to visit include Crater Lake in Oregon and Mount St. Helens and the San Juan Islands in Washington.
