Coronavirus Wedding Magic

As you all know by now, COVID-19 has thrown a huge wrench into many industries, including weddings. However, our clients Katie + Evan decided to roll with the punches and tie the knot this past weekend. Their original wedding was meticulously coordinated by Molly to take place at a beautiful resort nestled on Washington scenic Hood Canal with about 200 guests. However plans changed drastically not once, but several times while the state continued to tighten their restrictions in response to Coronavirus.

When all was said and done, it was only Katie + Evan’s immediate family (less than 10 people!) that came to witness the nuptials at a private property in Olympia. Katie + Evan said their vows on a beautiful, sunny day with photographer Stefan + Audrey along for the ride. As disappointed as Katie + Evan were to miss celebrating with their nearest and dearest, they had an amazing attitude and were just excited to be married.

However, that wasn’t enough for us, and our team felt the need to jump in and do more to make it an extra special day for the newlyweds. Molly + Elizabeth lead the charge to collect well wishes from guests. They printed them up in a custom designed booklet and sent it along with a surprise β€œwedding in a box” with beautiful velvet-adorned menu cards by Robinson Paperie, place cards by Minted, bouquet ribbon, additional supplies and even Top Pot donuts!

The best part? Katie + Evan were surprised by a very special virtual cocktail hour! An invitation had been sent out with instructions for guests to join the Zoom video conference. Katie + Evan’s friends and family got dressed up in what they would have worn to the wedding, and came prepared with their favorite cocktail in hand. After the initial surprise and shared tears each guest had the opportunity to toast the newlyweds. While they weren’t there to all celebrate in person, this was the next best thing!

The newlyweds finished off their evening by a delivered dinner, delicious cake and time together.

It is clear that the love surrounding Katie + Evan is so strong. This was a very happy ending for a very special couple, that even got picked up by a few TV stations. Congrats to the newlyweds!!! Can’t wait to share more pics with you all in the very near future.

Katie + Evan had a big surprise after having to scale down their planned 200 person wedding to 10 members of their immediate family as a result of Coronaviru...
