Layla + Benton

It was a beautiful day for a wedding at Abbey Road Farm for Layla and Benton! We exchanged a little bit of clouds and rain at rehearsal for a spectacular sunny wedding day.

Layla’s family is Persian, and it was amazing to see all of the traditions they chose to include. The ceremony aisle was lined with colorful rugs. At the end sat the table for the Sofreh Aghd, a traditional Persian ceremony spread full of symbolic items like honey, spices, fruits, coins, a mirror, incense, and more. The bride’s mom provided ceremony cards explaining all of the symbolism and traditions - such a beautiful touch! There were modern traditions as well. Benton’s brother walked their pup (and beloved family member!) Russell down the aisle first, clad in the cutest tiny tux and gold collar.

Benton and Layla each came in with their parents, and then sat at the sofreh while close family and friends held a cloth over their heads and took turns grinding sugar cones over the couple while their friend KJ officiated the ceremony.

“Lucy” the mobile bar was the highlight of cocktail hour, as were the Russell cocktail napkins! Once guests took their seats for dinner, Event Team Entertainment introduced the couple into the reception while guests waved their napkins in celebration. I loved the pink and green color scheme they chose, it complemented the wood accents of the dining room so perfectly and made everything feel so bright and cheerful. After a few sweet welcome toasts from Benton and each of the fathers, guests dined on a delicious family style dinner. Then it was time for what everyone had been waiting for - the dancing! This crowd knew how to pack the dance floor, and guests danced the night away.

It was an amazing day for an amazing couple! Layla and Benton, I’m wishing you all the happiness in the world! The biggest congratulations on this new chapter. It was such a joy to be a part of it!

XOXO, Emily
