Yao + Robert

Yao and Robert’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of Chinese traditions and western elements in a garden setting at Chateau de Michellia in Salem. The morning of the wedding, a Tea Ceremony took place, where Robert and Yao served tea to their mothers, aunts, and grandmothers, as an act of unifying their families. As guests entered the estate later that afternoon, they were met with lush landscaping as they made their way to the ceremony lawn. The wedding party walked down the aisle to live acoustic music performed by Blake from John Ross Music, with the bride’s song being “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Friends and family witnessed Robert and Yao’s heartfelt vows with the historic chateau as the backdrop, and everyone cheered as their marriage was sealed with a kiss.

After the ceremony, friends and family enjoyed Caprese Skewers, BLT Bites and Barbeque Meatballs from Willaby’s Catering. Tables were set with romantic floral arrangements, and delicate gold accents, along with Chinese symbols meaning “joy and happiness”. For dinner, Robert and Yao treated their guests to eight different Chinese dishes, including Salt and Pepper Prawns, Lobster Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice.

After dinner, Robert and Yao cut their 3-tiered passion fruit cake by Sewell Sweets (with the most intricate sugar flowers I have ever seen!) before taking the party to the dance floor. Blake kept the dance floor full until the end with a mix of Robert and Yao’s favorite dance tracks, and friends and family left the chateau with their hearts full.

Yao and Robert, your wedding day was a dream come true! Such a gorgeous day from start to finish. It was a joy for me to witness your love and partnership throughout the planning process, and I wish you a beautiful life together!

XOXO, Candida
