Elizabeth + Tim

I can’t begin to tell you how special it was to be a part of such an amazing wedding weekend.  Elizabeth + Tim told me, early on in her planning process, that she has always dreamed of a St. Patrick’s day wedding, and that is just what she got, leprechauns not included.  Elizabeth is a veteran member of the Bridal Bliss team (the couple were introduced by Nora...Bridal Bliss founder and Tim's sister-in-law!), so we all knew that this was going to be a perfectly styled, exciting and memorable evening.  Of course, she chose an amazing team of wedding professionals to help execute this unbelievable day.

The day began at The Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Portland.  Elizabeth and her bridal party were pampered by Face Body Beauty, while J&M Media  was there to film all of the details. Once in her dress, the girls moved across town to Hotel Modera, where Elizabeth and Tim had their “first look” (just after she had a sweet first look moment with her dad!), which was captured by the talented Jessica Hill Photography.  The rest of the bridal party joined in for some pretty amazing pictures in front of the hotel's “living wall”.

At The Old Church  for the ceremony.  Guests were greeted with a live bagpiper before finding their seats.  The processional began with an amazing rendition of “Days like this” sung by Tim's cousin. The irish theme was visibly tied in with the bridesmaids' stunning hunter green gowns from Anna’s Bridal, and of course the handsome ring bearer Gavin and his green velvet jacket.  Once Father Kevin Yell said the magic words, guests cheered and rejoiced as the couple made their way back down the aisle.

With buses waiting outside, the party was ready to travel to Left Bank Annex to begin cocktail hour and officially start the reception. Devil’s Food Catering was amped and ready for the busloads of guests to arrive.  There were so many unique touches for guests during cocktail hour.  From temporary tattoos of the newlyweds faces, to freshly shucked oysters in custom made cigar boxes, and of course Guinness. In cans, in brown paper bags, per the bride request.  With Chad Dowling Productions keeping the music going, it was hard to believe there was more of a party upstairs. But oh man was there!!

As guests made their way upstairs, they were faced with a simple, yet very elegant, escort card wall.  Once they found their tables, names were personalized on each soup bowl with calligraphy from Palomino. It was seemingly impossible to go directly to your seat, however.  You couldn't help but stop and admire the incredible floral chandeliers designed by Zest Floral. They did such an amazing job tying in whites, and greens throughout the entire room. The vast head table hugged the giant black and white dance floor from The Party Place, that was just calling to be danced on.  The Bride and Groom decided to switch things up a bit and start the dance party before dinner!  Precious Byrd was on hand to do just that.  After introducing the happy couple, the band played an upbeat, high energy set to really get the party going.

During dinner, the caterers made their way around pouring soup table side for each guest.  While everyone enjoyed their main course, the couple surprised the crowd with an Irish dance group that took over the stage and performed for the room.  Just when you thought you couldn’t eat another bite, out came the personal sized wedding cakes that Dream Cakes baked and decorated for EACH guest!  Once the dance floor opened up, guests were hopping back and forth between the awesome range of dance music from the band, and the super popular photo booth in the mezzanine.

Elizabeth and Tim are such a fun, happy couple to be around.  They really just wanted an amazing evening to celebrate with friends and family, and went above and beyond to achieve this. Even Portland Bride + Groom Magazine took notice and featured the fab event in a spread--find it in the current issue! It was such an honor to be a part of this day, and I wish you both a lifetime of love, and luck :)
