Anne + Mark

I remember the day I met Anne and Mark for our initial consult.  We connected instantly and I loved hearing about how they met and how they had spent the first few years of their relationship together.  It made perfect sense to incorporate elements of this into their wedding day.

To give you some back story, Anne and Mark met while rock climbing in Vietnam.  Mark was Anne's guide, there was a connection, but it took an email with the subject line "Climb On" and Mark flying out to NYC to see Anne, that their relationship began.  They then spent the first couple years of their relationship traveling all over the world together --- HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!

For their wedding, they selected Camp Colton as their venue- which I might have to say might be becoming one of my favorites. The weather was a perfect Oregon Fall day. Anne and her girls got ready at the Woodlark Hotel where she had her first look with her dad and then Mark. Guests all arrived at the venue via shuttles from downtown Portland where they then made their way into the woods where Anne and Mark said their vows in front of their family and closest friends in a ceremony performed by Anne's brother.

For cocktail hour, guests made their way back to the main cabin patio and the "culinary journey" began, with dishes inspired by where they first met, guests enjoyed Crispy Spring Rolls, Mini Banh Mi sliders and Tamarind Glazed Shrimp meatballs.

Their signature cocktails even had special meanings to both the bride and groom.  Anne's- a Manhattan, in honor of her late grandmother called "The Kay", Mark's- a Lemongrass infused Bloody Mary, in honor of his late father. I'm tearing up again just remembering this special touch.

For dinner, guests found their seats on a custom made mountain by Hey Halle.  Escort Cards hung off carabiners and at the top of the peak read "Climb On (to your seat)".

The dining room was set with a combination of long and round tables, oatmeal colored linens, burgundy napkins, stoneware dishware and the most beautiful floral by the ever so talented- Indigo Gardens

A family style dinner featuring more inspiring dishes from places the couple had traveled and settled down together- the Pacific Northwest.  For dessert, guests made their way back outside to the patio and were treated to cake and bananas foster- an homage to Anne's college town of New Orleans.

The dance party was non stop thanks to the amazing band and DJ (The Essentials and Event Team) - it was an incredible evening for two incredible humans.

I truly was honored to be a part of Anne and Mark's big day. Thank you Anne and Mark for letting me be a part of it.

XOXO, Katy
