Personally significant dates (college reunions, recurring family trips, birthdays)
Holiday Weekends (MLK, Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc). Travel costs will skyrocket, and vendors will charge more for a holiday weekend. Also if your heart is set on red roses avoid Valentines!
Religious holidays: Easter, Passover, Ramadan, etc. Be mindful of the dates and be aware if you are getting married in a religious setting there may be restrictions.
Sporting events: check your team's schedule. Avoid March Madness, Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, etc.
Unlucky dates: The ides of March, Friday the 13th, Leap year
