Elizabeth + Tim Engaged

This last weekend was one to remember.  ELIZABETH CORR, a Bridal Bliss planner, my good  friend, and my soon to be sister got engaged to Tim Sheils who just happens to be my brother-in-law!  I have been anxiously awaiting this big event for months (let’s not kid ourselves…years!), and it did not disappoint.  Tim caught Elizabeth totally off guard and planned a perfect proposal.  It all began last month when Tim drove to Seattle to ask Elizabeth’s parents in person for her hand in marriage.  Such and old school and gentlemanly gesture, I absolutely love it.

Pre-Proposal

Elizabeth worked a wedding on Friday, so she unknowingly set him up and asked Tim to make plans for Saturday.  He had pre-planned a hike up at Silverlake Falls and totally lucked out with the beautiful weather.  He took his time to scope out the perfect location as they hiked, and had the ring hidden in his shoe.  Tim asked a passerby to snap a bunch of photos and then popped the big question.  Of course, she said yes!!

Afterwards, Elizabeth thought they were heading back to Portland to get massages.  Tim mentioned a houseboat that a friend had put up for sale and that they should check it out on their way home.  Elizabeth loves being on the water, so she was totally down.  What she didn’t know was that in the houseboat her nearest and dearest were waiting to surprise her and spend the weekend celebrating the great news. Elizabeth’s parents and several cousins came down from Seattle, her closest Portland friends were there, and my husband  Tyler and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

It took Elizabeth & Tim a bit longer to get back to the houseboat than expected and the anticipation was killing us! Finally, the happy couple walked through the door and the only way to describe the looks on their faces was pure joy.  Everyone was so excited, tears were flowing and it was just such a perfect moment with so much love in the room.

The ring is absolutely gorgeous.  The best part?  Tim had it custom designed to include his grandma’s and future mother-in-law’s diamonds.  So thoughtful and just so awesome.

I am beyond excited for our family to grow, for all of the festivities to come, and to share a lifetime of happy memories with these two.  I love them both so much individually, but even more so as a couple.  I am just on cloud 9.  Cheers!!!
