Dayna + Collin
Dayna and Colin's wedding was an absolute joy to be a part of! Where do I even begin!? An amazing, thoughtful couple, a wonderful family, the dream team of vendors and one stunning venue - it was truly the most whimsical, magical, elegant garden party from start to finish!
Dayna and Colin wanted to find a venue near Portland that would exude their love for the outdoors and allow guests to experience the northwest and all of its beauty. When they saw Oakwood Gardens, they knew that it was the perfect canvas to create their special day. From intricate gardens, to large open pastures, the venue has such diverse and gorgeous elements that you cannot find anywhere else.
Beginning with the traditional Western Ceremony, the groom's aunt orchestrated a thoughtful ceremony with vows from the bride and groom that left no dry eye. Following their Western Ceremony guests traveled across the footbridge, where they enjoyed refreshing cocktails and chef-attended food stations in the property's wooden garden. During cocktail hour guests were invited to take part in the traditional Korean Ceremony, the Paebaek, set at the venue's Reflecting Pool. Dayna, Colin and their families adored colorful traditional Korean attire, as her sisters provided guidance to guests on what was taking place.
Following the Paebaek guests continued their journey and traveled to the lower gardens where a stunning Sperry tent from Party Place awaited. With a dramatic tunnel entrance created by Blum, guests walked into a tent that felt as though they were sitting outside. Large swooping trees created around the tent posts, gorgeous lighting from Greenlight, delicate colorful florals set atop each table - the tent was a stunner. It incorporated so many natural, live elements, which was such a priority to Dayna and Colin from the very beginning.
Art of Catering treated guests to a custom 3-course dinner, with delicious Korean flavors and inspiration in every bite. Dream Cakes topped off the evening with the cutest multi-cake Alpaca cake, with hundreds of pastel sugar flowers. Side One cranked up the music and the dance floor was filled from the first song to the final sparkler exit. Icing on the cake? A nearby property was celebrating with fireworks - mid-dancing guests enjoyed a surprise firework show which felt like the perfect unexpected ending to such a lovely day.
I could not have asked for a better time working with Dayna, Colin and their families to create such a magical day. I wish Dayna and Colin nothing but joy and love in this new chapter of life together!
