Marsala Inspiration Shoot

The Old Schoolhouse is nestled amongst a filbert orchard in the heart of Newberg.  The owners did a great job renovating the historic building and added just the right amount of touches to appease all types of weddings and events.  The indoor ballroom has a grand yet cozy feel while the outside was landscaped with everything in mind, allowing for brides to select which area they prefer for their ceremony backdrop.  For our inspiration shoot, we wanted to incorporate the bold tones of Pantone's 2015 color of the year Marsala, all while keeping it simple yet elegant.  With that in mind, we utilized the venue's wooden table as our base with items from Classic Vintage Rentals to tie everything in.  Tufted chairs, velvet marsala runner, with gold rimmed limoge vintage plates and assorted silverware gave the table an classic yet old fashioned flair. Florals in an array of burgundies, reds, greens and pinks at various heights sat in vintage vases.  To top it off, we asked the experts at Greenlight Creative to create a special backdrop with lighting to add to the elegance of the tablescape. The Photo Booth backdrop was made out of literature book pages, a great nod to an "old schoolhouse".  Macaron favors, delicious treats from Devil's Food Catering and a "naked" red velvet cake sat amongst a vintage burgundy cake stand with accents of dogwood to top off the look.  It was a great collaboration by all involved, and Ruffled took note and featured the editorial!
