Katie + Justin

When you fall in love with a bride and her mom in your very first meeting, you just know it is going to be a fun planning season! And that is exactly how it was with Katie, her mom Becky and the rest of their amazing family! Katie & Justin chose Alderbrook Resort as their venue, with the added bonus that they were engaged just down the road at Katie's family cabin. As we began to work through the details of their big day, Katie and Justin also made plans to relocate to Seattle following some time in California. Things were moving along on both fronts until Covid struck. Unfortunately Katie and Justin, and their families had to come to the hard decision that their originally planned 200+ person wedding could not happen. That said, being the positive people that they both are, Katie and Justin chose to focus on what could happen, a celebration of love with some of their favorite people.

Sticking with their original wedding date, June 20th we went into full planning mode just about 3 weeks before the big day! We opted to work with some of the same vendors, but changed the look and feel so as not to take away from the larger celebration now planned for 2021. Instead of the seafood feast we envisioned at Alderbrook, we went with flatbread pizza from Deru, our soft white and blue palette changed to pinks, peaches and corals, and even the bride groom opted to ditch their formalwear for a jumpsuit (Katie) and sportcoat + tennies (Justin). What didn't change was the overall feel we wanted the day to have. Despite the now very small number of guests you could feel the love from all as Katie & Justin said their I-do's on a private dock with their family & friends surrounding them on the beach and in private boats.

Following an intimate ceremony we moved over to the Sell's lovely home, where future brother-in-laws served drinks, guests enjoyed dinner and cake all while celebrating the newlyweds. Amy with Gather Design provided all of the beautiful flowers, including a small bouquet for each female guest, and the entire event was captured by family friend, and photographer extraordinaire, Brynna Kathleen.

If this is just a small glimpse into what is to come as these two say I do (again), with more friends and family, I cannot wait to see all of the love and laughter to come.

XOXO, Molly
