Gemma + Landon

To say Gemma and Landon’s wedding day was magical, would be an understatement. From the first sunny Saturday Portland had seen in a long time, to the aromatic, vibrant florals surrounding the entire restaurant (inside and out!), to the absolutely mouthwatering food served all night - there just truly aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful their wedding was.

Following in the bride’s parents’ footsteps, Gemma and Landon planned their wedding celebration, centered around delicious food, with the ceremony in the middle! Guests arrived to the patio of Ox Restaurant on May 21st, which was decorated with bright pink, orange and creamy florals by Caroline Reusen, and enjoyed signature cocktails and passed canapΓ©s - such as dungeness crab salad on endive, and Spanish anchovy & butter on sourdough miche.

The bride wore a whimsical, vintage gown, as she walked down the aisle with her mom, Lisa. The couple incorporated elements of the Jewish faith into the ceremony, as their officiant explained the significance to the couple, and their guests. The vows were heartfelt, pure, poetic and totally romantic. They were surrounded by love, and tears of joy, as they said β€œI do”.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a three-course feast prepared by the James Beard Award-winning chefs at Ox. From Spanish octopus and grilled prawns, to Maitake mushrooms and walnut-crusted zucchini, to cowboy ribeye, and skirt steak drizzled with chimichurri - the guests were delighted with every bite, and somehow managed to save room for the decadent desserts (and the best vanilla bean flan I have ever tasted).

The night ended with hearts’ filled, appetites more than satisfied, and dancing and laughter under the night sky. Gemma and Landon, it was a pleasure to work alongside you, and your mom Lisa, to help make this beautiful day happen. I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, adventure, and many memorable meals together.

XOXO, Candida
