Lauren + Mike
I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren a few years back when she was a bridesmaid at Shannon + Charlie's wedding. Not only is Lauren the sweetest, but we had a blast planning her wedding to Mike, with the help of her amazing mom, Mary. After touring a few venues in town, Lauren and Mike chose The Redd on Salmon - before it was complete. We did a hard hat tour and the family entrusted me to design the space and add touches of their personalities to the room!
A beautiful ceremony, performed by Lauren's brother, kept the nuptials light, funny and sentimental. Lauren opted for her other two brothers to be her “bridesmen”, while Mike had his brother and cousin as his groomsmen. Blum designed a gorgeous floral backdrop that was suspended above the couple as they said their vows among family and friends.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces that the venue provided while they noshed on delicious hors d'oeuvres and cocktails by Art of Catering. Bridgewood had the perfect white bar to wrap around the press, which is a fixed piece in the space and part of it's history.
For dinner, guests made their way to the other side of the press, where they sat amongst a mixture of round and long tables. White and grey linens were intermixed throughout the room to break up the sea of tables, with Bridgewood's sandglass chairs, dark rattan chargers and silver flatware. We had gorgeous greenery swagging above the tables along with two trios of chandeliers giving the warehouse a softer feel. Gorgeous blooms in whites, blues, and greenery were intermixed throughout the tables along with a plethora of candles!
My favorite part of the night was when we surprised Mike, a Chicago native, with mini Chicago dogs for their late night snacks. The look on his face was priceless! It was an incredible evening for an incredible couple and their families!
