Kumudu + Alex

If you know me at all, you know how much I love cultural weddings, especially ones at Portland Art Museum! Kumudu and Alex's wedding is one of my all time favorites to take place at the museum, and I couldn't have been more thrilled how it turned out.

Being from Sri Lanka, Kumudu and her family wanted to incorporate elements of their culture into the wedding and wow, am I ever so glad we did! With the ceremony taking place in the Sunken Ballroom, Steve Sharp from A Beautiful Ceremony NW, their officiant, gave the most heartfelt and loving ceremony under the floral filled mandap-like structure adorned with a chandelier.

After the ceremony, guests made their way upstairs into the Grand Ballroom. Floral chandeliers hung throughout the ceiling along with three special and larger chandeliers made of orchids and greenery that hung above the head table down the center of the ballroom.

Kumudu had a special gold Lehenga for the ceremony and then changed into the most gorgeous red Lehenga for the dance party. Her details of both outfits were simply stunning and truly embraced her Sri Lankan heritage!

For dinner, guests were treated to an incredible meal by Art of Catering among tables decorated with glass chargers, gold flatware and specialty linens from La Tavola. The night was truly magical - one I will never forget!

Thank you to Inside Weddings for the feature!

XOXO, Katy
